Understanding Views You Reject

a very good test, i think:

if you consider a view false
and
you don’t undersand why
it could make sense
to somebody else

then you don’t really understand that view

so is the reason you're rejecting it
only because it doesn’t make sense to you?

  1. what if you do understand why it makes sense to others but it still doesn't make sense to you?
hmmm.. food for thought again i guess.

  2. hi,
i suppose it is that people seem to often reject views because they sound 'ridiculous' or 'strange' to them, simply because they don't understand the viewpoint the view comes from. If you understand the viewpoint then you understand the basis for the view, and you are at least in a better position for disagreeing with it.
